The 'I'm Winning' List

A list of new accomplishments/achievements/proud moments that reassure me I am winning at life.
  • Ate snake.
  • Am to become a titled man in Kom. I will soon be a Chindo.
  • Was able to finally be a 'buy-em-sell-em' person in Bamenda. Meaning I walked to streets for almost an hour trying to halk sell two flash memory cards.
  • Crashed a Cameroonian wedding within the first four days of being in country.
  • Danced Juju at a Cry-Die in Njinikom.
  • I've yet to climb my favorite mountain (Tabula) without having it pour rain on me.
  • Executed the most perfect face painting, ever.
  • Got nine stitches in my leg because of a a toilet paper holder (and I was 100% sober).
  • Was given a blessing by a Fon (Chief) by having him pour a drink for me with my hand as the fountain.
  • Created a blog called Cowboys of Cameroon.
  • As of Mid-February have only flipped over on my bicycle once.
  • Ate grasshoppers.
  • Nearly mastered Pidgin English.
  • Was given the gizzard of a chicken (token of incredible hospitality and respect in Kom)
  • Joined the club... in my own bed while sleeping. Ohh, the mystery.
  • Played lead guitar and sang 'Folsom Prison Blues' in a cabaret bar on a Sunday night in Bamenda.
  • Am onto my third water project, second SPA grant.
